It’s been weeks…

I really love Jen Gotch’s (my polaroid blog and co-creator of ban.do) reason of why she hasn’t blogged in a long time. So I’m going to steal her reason, as it is the same reason I have.

“if you haven’t noticed, i’ve got nothing to say. and actually, that’s inaccurate. i’ve got plenty to say, but only a limited amount of time and energy to say it with. oh and i have to say stuff in lots of other places. so it’s not that i don’t care. it’s just that i am out of film, short on time and low on energy.”

Here, here. I just returned from Ireland (refreshed and exhausted at the same time), I’m tapped out creatively, my nerves are fried, I’m anxious and stressed 24/7, and I’m tired of people hurting my feelings, letting me down, and taking advantage of me. It’s just gotten me really down. I love blogging, I love sharing my thoughts and creativity with people who appreciate those thoughts and creativity, but lately, it’s just hard and I don’t have any motivation to keep putting myself out there.

Baked in Birmingham won’t go away; I’m not going to end something I love doing just because some people like to rain on my parade. But I think my break here will continue for a little while. Stay with me, and come back when things are going swell again. I’ll be baking my little heart out in the meantime, and hopefully take some pictures along the way. In the meantime, if you’re the praying type, then you know what to do.

  1. Negative people always sap the life right out of you but God sends them to you for a season and a reason. It is okay to take a step back, create boundaries and choose a group of nurturing friends. It is okay to step away for a time of refreshing and regrouping. Remember that those negative people need a ray of sunshine (that’s you), a positive word and an upbeat attitude!

I love keeping up with you. You are bright and charming. You have a lot of important things to say. Nobody says it quite like you! Take a break but come back!

  2. I’m sorry life and the world’s got you down, Malinda. I hate it when things get like that. Please get to feeling better soon and come back to us! I love your blog!
